No weekend for the faint of heart. Team Project 1 – JBR experienced a turbulent season opener in the scope of DTM at the Hockenheimring. After a fulminating qualifying with grid positions 3 (race Saturday) and 2 (race Sunday), Team Project 1 – JBR driver Jaxon Evans finished both races in third place.

Unfortunately, he was disqualified from the podium in Saturday’s race. However, the team immediately appealed against this decision. Undeterred, Evans reiterated his great performance on Sunday, earning himself and the team the first podium finish of the year in third place.

Team Project 1 – JBR rookie Jannes Fittje showed a strong qualifying session under difficult conditions heading towards a top 5 finish just before the end. Unfortunately, Jannes lost the car at the exit of the last corner after two very promising sector times. However, the damage allowed no repair, so that he could not participate in the first race. Overnight the team provided a new race car allowing Jannes to start from the end of the grid (due to regulations) in the second race. His great recovery was unfortunately stopped after a collision.

Team Manager Svenja Becker: “A turbulent weekend for us as a team – with all the ups and downs. We can be proud of having achieved both the front row of the grid and the podium on our first appearance. Of course, the disqualification on Saturday and Jannes´ accident in the qualifying put a damper on our joy. Especially for Jannes it is extremely sad because his qualifying lap looked very promising. A starting position within the first three rows would certainly have been possible. And then, of course, the weekend would have looked completely different. I am sure that our two drivers will show their full potential at the upcoming race in Most ».

Round 2 of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany will take place from May 17-19, 2019 in Most, Czech Republic.
